Beers Of The Beano - Wednesday 21 February 2024
When you have time off in the UK, always plan on it’s going to rain. And, today there is a Yellow Warning of Rain, at least until midday. Still, starting in Costa Pontypridd with a Cappuccino and a Bacon Roll was good despite the rain. And, The Tumble was warm and dry and it had promos out for The Spring Beer Festival.
Still confused what day it is. Thinking Monday Club but just a normal Wednesday.
The review
Hedge Hop - Flack’s - 4.9% ABV. B+, strong ale with a powerful malt, hop and fruity body. Dry bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3/5. Thinking it’s Monday when it’s a very wet Wednesday. The first promos are up for the Spoons Spring Beer Fest.
The review
Skinful - Beartown - 4.2% ABV. B+ and a touch, much improved over my last tasting. Malty, earthiness and fruity. Fruity and gentle bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.1/5. The head and then it shrunk with the fluid rising so no top up was needed. Heavy, soggy Wednesday.
The review
High Hops - Purple Moose Brewery - 5.4% ABV. B++, I’ve has it before and it’s been very good. However, today it tastes far more tropical and juicy. Usually you only get it in Welsh Spoons but this is well worth hunting down. A nod to BBC Wales comedy High Hopes too.
I was going to do so my more, like wander over to The Bunch of Grapes but the rain just wouldn’t stop, so I called it a day before I was washed away.
