Beers Of The Beano - Saturday 24 February 2024
The end of February and into March is always known for Winter’s last gasp, sometimes with snow. Yesterday had snow on the hilltops and the odd flurry. Today, in Hereford, started with a hard frost. Costa Coffee and then The Kings Fee (Wetherspoons) to start.
The review
Jay IPA - Magpie Brewery - 5.2% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty, earthy base with a hint of orange. Lingering slightly fruity bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. In The Kings Fee #Hereford and this Pint is a great start to a very cold day. There seems to be some Rugby 🏉 today.
The review
Going to the bar, which is suddenly packed. Queuing and waiting and then finding the Ludlow Blonde is off. Fallback position, a pint of Doombar. Your standard malty, session Ale.
On top The Hereford Beer House. There are still some Cloudwater 9th Birthday Brews on draft.
The review
9th Birthday DIPA - Cloudwater - 8.0% ABV. A-, what an absolute corker. Think, dank, juicy and slightly alcoholic #ale #beer #bier

And that was my lot until the next time in Hereford. Soon I hope.
